I truly loved this movie! A man's search for purpose by finding his true love across parallel universes, I mean come on who wouldn't be intrigued?! The movie is simple enough to follow and has a few real tearjerker scenes. Anyone who's ever searched for love will truly understand this and immediately be captured.
To say this is a sci-fi movie might actually be missing the point of it all, I really believe this movie is a love story, one filled with self discovery and realisations including the maturity of love, perhaps even the clarity that love isn't what we, ourselves percieve or want it to be and that people are infallible but that's just me.
From the very beginning of the movie, we see our lead character thrown into loss as he watches the girl of his dreams get married and the very theme of loss carries on throughout the movie till the end. We watch as he meets others and develops relationships and his eventual progession to a ppoint where he now realises he may spend an eternity looking for his 'perfect' love and never find it but rather accept what is and go with it.
Of course im being extremely simplistic and I think you should have a look at this, it really won't be a waste of time and if you're a silly romantic as I am then you will definitely see the merit of this movie/ This a movie that will proudlty be displayed in my collection and will be viewed several times.
I was saddened however to find out after watching this movie that one of the actors, Brittany Belland has committed suicide. Her portrayal as the supportive friend is so well-played and she really had a bright future ahead of her, this made the movie feel even more tragic and I really would have loved to have seen her in more movies.
The movie was written and directed by Motke Dapp and stars Kristopher Wente as Diggsy, C.J. Perry A.K.A WWE's Lana, Sara Antonio, Miroslav Barnyashev, Brittany Belland, Alan Powell and Eddie George. Motke Dapp, if this is the type of movies you're writing, then keep up the kgood work because soon you'll be going places and I personally look forward to seeing more form you.
ANOTHER VERSION OF YOU (2019) SYNOPSIS
Diggsy Ellston has been in love with Suzette Larking since he was a boy. When Suzette gets married to another man, Diggsy meets a stranger who offers him an unbelievable gift: the unusual possibility of finding another Suzette. This offering comes in the form of a key that opens doors into parallel universes. Universes where other versions of Suzette may not only exist, but where one of them could even possibly love him. Sounds magical, but there's one major catch: Once Diggsy uses the key, he can't go back; he will forever leave everyone and everything he has ever known. Diggsy's hesitation lies in the strong bond he shares with his sister, Daphne, but he justifies his decision to leave on the belief that she wants him to move on in life. With every new universe comes a new decision: Stay or leave? Settle or keep chasing the dream of finding a Suzette who will love him? Diggsy's journey is filled with comedy, heartbreak, adventure, and a heavy dose of fish out of water.
