Scalett Johansson's character gets her own solo movie and the most interesting thing about this is the character is already dead, having sacrificed herself in Avengers: Endgame (2019). The story, in fact, takes place between Avenger movies, namely Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Black Widow played such a pivotal role in the Avengers, having made her first full apearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opposite Tony Stark and Samuel Jackson in Iron Man 2 and has such become more and more the embodiment of what the Avengers stand for.
The movie has an impressive cast and is directed by Australian filmaker Cate Shortland and is best known for her films Somersault, Lore and Berlin Syndrome. Look for this one in theatres around the end of April / beginning of May 2020.
BLACK WIDOW (2020) SYNOPSIS
At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.
