WHO OR WHAT IS TURBO KID ... well judging from the short teaser trailer, it's a superhero movie with a difference. It show us a alternate future where the world has gone to hell in a one retro post-apocalyptic handbag, Mad Max style. A welcome change from the superhero fare gracing out theatres these days and perhaps a new fresher view to give us breathing space from the more well-known Marvel and DC superheroes who seem to constitute mainstream cinema these days.Now Turbo Kid has the most badass villain from the 90's in the form of Michael Ironside! Since this is a retro 90's movie, who else would you expect to play a villain?! Awesome casting right there! The movie stars Munro Chambers in the title role as well as Laurence LeBoeuf as Apple. Turbo Kid is directed by three directors, namely François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell.
In a post-apocalyptic future, THE KID, a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl named APPLE. Despite their efforts to keep to themselves, ZEUS, the sadistic and self-proclaimed leader of the Wasteland, plagues THE KID and APPLE. Armed with little more than blind faith and an ancient turbocharged weapon, THE KID learns of justice and friendship and embarks on an incredible journey to rid the Wasteland of evil and save the girl of his dreams.
