When Katniss destroys the games, she goes to District 13 after District 12 is destroyed. She meets President Coin who convinces her to be the symbol of rebellion, while trying to save Peeta from the Capitol.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee, tragically died with one week of filming left. Due to the fact that the majority of his scenes for the final two movies were already filmed, the role was not re-cast, but finished with script re-writes.

The trivia items below may give away important plot points.
Although the character of Effie Trinket only appears briefly at the end of the novel, her role has been expanded in the films. Reportedly, after seeing Catching Fire, author Suzanne Collins called director Francis Lawrence and said, "There's no way Effie Trinket cannot be in the Mockingjay films."
In order for Josh to look like he was tortured many think he went on an extreme diet. But in reality they used CGI to slim his face and look abused and beaten.
Liam Hemsworth said the most awkward moments filming were the kissing scenes with Jennifer Lawrence.
Filming in the sewage pipes, Jennifer Lawrence reportedly had a choking fit on the dry ice/smoke used in the scene.
Katniss' stylists who play roles in the book do not appear in the movie. They are replaced by Effie Trinket.
Katniss only fires 1 arrow in the entire movie. She almost shoots an elk in one scene, but refuses because it's not scared of her.
CONTINUITY
After Katniss takes down the bomber with an incendiary arrow, in the next shot she still has the full complement of arrows in her quiver.
After District 13's attack, we see Katniss and Gale exit out of the rubble hole of the bunker. However on the next shot, Gale exits out of the hole again.
After the attack on District 13 when Katniss finds the roses, she picks up a rose bud. In the next shot, she holds a longer stalk of a half open rose with more leaves.
When Plutarch Heavensbee is first introduced he is sitting down, but in the next shot he is standing again ready to greet Katniss.
When district 13 is being attacked and they are closing up the doors, Katniss and Prim are running for the doors, we hear a voice counting down and saying they have 9 seconds, as the shot goes to the door we instead see that the timer instead reads 11 seconds and not the 9 as stated.
