It's been almost three decades since Top Gun was released and now it seems Hollywood is once again churning it's sequel machine to bring us something all Cruise and fans have been waiting for, namely Top Gun 2! The good news is that Tom Cruise will be back for the sequel! What more do you need to know right? Anyway here's what the People had to say about the project:

Meanwhile, Cruise, 52, is set to reprise his role as Naval aviator Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in a plot that reportedly will emphasize the relevance of pilots in the modern age of drone warfare."

Everything seems on par for Maverick to hit the skies once more. Maybe we should write a letter to the studios to encourage them to push for this movie to get off the ground. At least we have some news on this and the possibility of us seeing the boys fly those not so friendly skies edges ever closer to becoming a reality.
