REVIEWED HARD.... TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS (2016)..... COWABUNGA DUDES!!!

REVIEWED HARD....Now let me say this, this post is filled with spoilers, so if you still need to see this then know you have been warned!

I've read a few reviews about this movie before I even sat down to watch it and one thing that sticks in my head is that the movie was widely regarded as a financial failure at the US box office but being the fan that I am of the Ninja Turtles, no review was going to stop me from making up my own mind about this movie.

Firstly, once again, Americans judge a movie by how much money it brings in domestically so let's examine those figures shall we...the movie cost $135 million to make. In the US the movie made a total of $82,051,601 so do the math, the movie fell short of around $50 million dollars to make up the difference between cost and profit right? Wrong! Let's add the global total to that which stands around 163,577,460.... and the total worldwide figure is $245,629,061! The movie actually made a profit didn't it?

It might be of interest to note that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made a worldwide figure of  $493,333,584! Will we get to see a third Ninja Turtles movie? Your guess is as good as mine.

Now let's analyse this movie shall we, the movie itself does exactly what you would expect an American summer blockbuster to do, entertain. Our heroes face off against a new threat in the form of another inter dimensional being known as Krang. There's a global domination plot going on in which Shredder and Krang plan to take over earth. Will the Turtles save us? Of course they will.

Plenty of eye candy also going on around this movie in the form of the vivacious Megan Fox for the boys as well as Stephen Amell for the girls ( known for his roles as Oliver Queen in the TV show The Arrow). A nice addition to the movie was that of Tyler Perry! I mean come on, the movie is a fanboys wet dream. Tyler Perry you will remember also had a role in the new rebooted Star Trek franchise, Megan Fox for Transformers and who's producing this movie, none other than Michael Bay! I should also mention the brilliant Laura Linney also has a role here, which she plays to perfection like she does with all her roles.

For what it's worth I really enjoyed this movie. It had all the elements which a good superhero movie should have. Over the top villains, and incredible team of heroes and humor from beginning to end, the even add a piece of moral and philosophy to the movie, which is interesting as the Turtles ponder about their own brand of uniqueness as well as acceptance by the rest of the world. If you're a TMNT fan, go see this one, I guarantee you will enjoy it. Love the new Krang, very well done!

Along for the ride are Bebop and Rocksteady, two dimwitted henchmen who provide plenty of muscle. Luckily, the turtles have their own allies in April O'Neil, Vernon Fenwick and Casey Jones, a hockey-masked vigilante. As the pizza-loving heroes prepare for battle, the notorious Krang also emerges to pose an even greater threat.
