BREAKING NEWS!!! STAR TREK 3 Gets A DIRECTOR And RELEASE DATE!!!

How could any of us forget the extremely successful reboot of one of the biggest sci-fi franchises ever, Star Trek by now Star Wars director, JJ Abrams? Abrams almost single-handedly took the Star Trek mythology and threw it on it's head by recreating the entire storyline and bringing it to a new generation of fans. Now get ready for some of the best news relating to Star Trek 3, it has been announced that the new director for the movie will be none other than Justin Lin.

In case you need a recap, Lin has directed such movies as Fast & Furious 6, Fast Five, Fast & Furious as well as Annapolis. So seeing as he's done extremely well with the Fast and Furious franchise and clearly has displayed a knack for understanding what type of action audiences are hungry for, he will make for a worthy successor to Abrams.

Star Trek 3 now has a release date set for 8 July 2016 in the U.S. so expect a worldwide release around that time also. Thus far there are no further details regarding the plot / synopsis for Star Trek 3 but as soon as we know, so will you.
